Urticaria factitia (also known as dermographic urticaria and symptomatic dermographism) is characterized by whealing and itching following a minor stroking pressure, rubbing or scratching of the skin. The majority of patients with urticaria factitia benefits from treatment with nonsedating antihistamines.
